Strictly Come Dancing’s La Voix is forced to pull out of the competition after suffering injury as Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman dazzle in ball gowns for their last ever Blackpool Tower Week

Strictly Come Dancing star La Voix has unfortunately been forced to withdraw from the competition; this was announced as Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman took to the dance floor for the latest Blackpool Tower Week.

The 45-year-old Drag Race star, whose real name is Christopher Dennis, was forced to withdraw from this weekend’s upcoming Blackpool special after suffering an injury.

When the show kicked off on Saturday, Tess and Claudia dazzled in stunning ballgowns for their latest Blackpool Week, after the pair announced they would be leaving the show after the end of this series.

But Strictly fans were treated to disappointing news as the pair confirmed La Voix had been told by medics that she would not be able to continue competing.

The drag queen was seen looking distraught in the front row of the audience as the announcement was made.

Minutes later, the remaining celebs were shocked when Tess announced that no one would be going home this week and the dance had been cancelled.

First on the dance floor were Lewis Cope and his professional partner Katya Jones, who performed a Charleston performance.

The dance left judge Anton Du Beke speechless and Craig Revel Horwood had only one word for it: ‘Gorgeous’.

The surprising dance gave Lewis her second perfect score of 40 after becoming the first celebrity to achieve this in this series.

At Netx, Balvinder Sopal and his dance partner, rookie Julian Caillon, took the stage with Argentine Tango.

The band hit the ballroom with a medley of their hits, including Tragedy.

The Strictly pros wowed the audience with a flashy sing-along song and were later joined on the dance floor by judges and celebrity contestants.

Unfortunately, one of the stars who will not be able to attend the Blackpool Tower ballroom is drag queen La Voix, who had to leave the pitch earlier this week due to injury.

La Voix shared his sadness just hours before the show’s iconic Blackpool performance on Saturday.

La Voix responded brutally to fans who said she faked an injury to get out of the show, and shared it on Instagram, celebrating the ‘sad day’.

After being gifted a bouquet of flowers from Blossom & Ivy, La Voix shared a photo while writing: ‘Thank you so much Darlings @blossom_and_ivy.

‘This is a truly wonderful surprise on a sad day when we didn’t have any dancing in Blackpool.’

La Voix, who announced his injury on It Takes Two earlier this week, told host Janette Manrara: ‘This has been going on since the foxtrot.

‘I felt a slight movement in my foot, so comments were made that I had flat feet. I thought it would be okay, but it got worse and worse.

‘Until we had to change our shoes on Saturday. I couldn’t wear high heels. I had to wear those awful flat shoes.

‘We tried it out on Monday and it was obvious I was struggling through pain so we decided to turn pro and do it in the hope that I could come back with some rest.’

A day later, La Voix took to Instagram to share an update with her fans.

He said: ‘Good morning my dears. While I’m looking at social media and everyone is heading to Blackpool I go for an MRI scan to see what’s really going on with my foot.

‘I have a bone bruise, this is basically from the repetition of wearing high heels and is where my toe meets my foot.

‘This looks like a deep bone bruise and could turn into a stress fracture if I keep working on it. This obviously means a broken foot, with my foot in a boot for six to eight weeks.

‘That would have been terrible, so luckily they caught it before it got to this stage.

As I said in ‘And It Takes Two for the Physics Team’, the entire BBC Strictly team were amazing.

Fortunately, La Voix and her dance partner Aljaž will be able to continue competing due to show rules.
