Summons, warrants to be sent via WhatsApp and e-mail under new Delhi rules

According to the authorities, movement will help save time, to deliver court documents faster and to reduce the workload of the police force. The notification given by the Delhi Home Department had previously received the approval of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.
Faster and safer communication
In accordance with the new rules, the calls produced by the courts will be given electronically with the digital seal and signature of the relevant judge. The police will then forward them to the person participating by WhatsApp or e-mail.
According to the news agency, if the electronic service fails or if the necessary details are not available, the courts will have the option to direct physical delivery. The rules also contain provisions to protect the identity of victims in sensitive cases by protecting phone numbers and e-mail addresses.
A senior official said that the change of electronic delivery would reduce the duties of the police and office duties for the police and that they will focus more on investigations and basic police activities.
Records and infrastructure
According to the PTI report, as part of the new system, the police stations will be required to protect their records – electronic or physically – individuals who will be presented with calls or warrants under 2023 under 2023.
