Sunny Leone’s NY Event at Mathura Cancelled After Objections from Seers
Mathura (UP): Actor Sunny Leone’s New Year program at a local bar in the temple town of Mathura has been canceled after the organizers called off the event following objections from local seers. According to one of the organizers, Leone was scheduled to appear at a show where he would play a DJ on January 1.
“We wrote a letter to the District Magistrate. Lord Krishna performed ‘leela’ here. Seers come here to pray.
Dinesh Falahari of Sri Krishna Janambhumi Sangharsh Nyas said, “In such a place, Sunny Leone is invited to a program. Some people want to defame Brij Boomi and Sanatan Dharma by calling her to Mathura. They will propagate vulgarity; such people should be kept away from Brij Bhoomi.”
Organizers said they decided to cancel Leone’s program in Mathura, the land of Krishna Janmabhoomi, the birthplace of Lord Krishna.
Responding to the objections, Mithul Pathak, partner of The Trunk Bar and one of the organizers of Leone’s programme, said: “Considering the sentiments of local seers, we have decided to cancel (Sunny Leone’s) programme. We have initiated refund of the tickets.”
“Misinformation was spread. He was coming to play as a DJ and entry to the show was restricted by tickets.”
Pathak also stated that Leone has performed all over India and asked if he was against him everywhere.
