Supreme Court reverses lower court ruling, hands Chevron victory in environmental lawsuit

The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Chevron on Friday in a case about whether a Louisiana environmental case can proceed in federal court.

Chevron USA Inc. – In the Plaquemines Parish case, judges ruled that the case fell under federal civil servant removal law, allowing Chevron to move the case from state to federal court. The justices vacated the lower court order keeping the case in state court and remanded it for further proceedings.
