Swan stops Japanese bullet train in its tracks

A swan has caused delays on Japan’s world-famous Shinkansen bullet train system.
A driver suddenly spotted the bird on the tracks in the northeastern prefecture of Miyagi and stopped his train, the railway operator said on Wednesday.
The animal was unharmed.
However, according to Japanese news agency Kyodo, three of the bullet trains were delayed, affecting approximately 1,300 passengers.
Japan’s Shinkansen trains are renowned for their top speeds of up to 330 km per hour, punctuality and safety.
