APSRTC introduces periodic health check-up for staff above 45 years

Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has introduced a Periodic Health Check (PHC) system to safeguard the health of employees and prevent untimely deaths in service, according to Commissioner, Public Transport Department and official Vice Chairman and General Manager, APSRTC N. Balasubramanyam.

The decision comes in the wake of a rise in deaths among workers, especially drivers, due to heart and other serious health problems, Mr. Balasubramanyam said on Friday. Until now, periodic medical examinations were limited to drivers. The revised system will now cover all categories of employees.
