T.N. Cabinet expansion LIVE: Congress set to join Tamil Nadu’s first coalition government
The Congress, which has been away from power in Tamil Nadu for 59 years, is all set to join the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)-led government led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Thursday, May 21, 2026, thus beginning an era of coalition in the Dravidian State.
The party, which won five Assembly seats in the DMK-led alliance, was the first party to come to Mr. Vijay’s aid when it failed to reach the majority mark.
