anti-Naxalite operation: Three Naxalites killed in encounter with cops in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma

It broke out in the morning in the forest hills of Bhejji and Chintagufa police station areas when a team of District Reserve Guards (DRG) went on an anti-Naxalite operation based on inputs about the presence of Maoist cadres in the area, Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan told PTI.
He said three Naxalites have been killed in the encounter so far and the operation is still ongoing.
With the latest action, 262 Naxalites have been killed so far in clashes in Chhattisgarh this year.
While 233 of them were eliminated in Bastar division, which consists of seven districts, including Sukma, another 27 were shot dead in Gariaband district of Raipur division. Two Naxalites were killed in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki area in Durg district.
