Laura Woods: TV presenter ‘OK’ after collapsing during England coverage

Presenter Laura Woods said she was “fine” after fainting while televising England’s friendly against Ghana in Southampton on Tuesday.
Woods was caught by pundits Ian Wright and Anita Asante in the programme’s opening minutes, at which point ITV went to an ad break.
When the news came back, colleague Katie Shanahan took over as host and confirmed that Woods had “got sick.”
Woods later said medical staff told him it was likely a virus.
“God, that was kind of weird,” he shared on Instagram.
“I’m sorry for worrying everyone, I’m fine. I just need some rest and hydration.”
He added: “I’m really embarrassed by what happened on TV but a huge thank you to my colleagues at ITV who really looked after me tonight and to Wrighty and Neets for catching me.”
Woods’ fiancé, reality TV star Adam Collard, had previously posted an update on social media about the host’s condition after fans voiced their concerns.
“Laura is doing well and with the right people. Thank you for all your kind messages,” he wrote.
At halftime, Shanahan added: “As you all know, Laura Woods fell ill early in the program. We want to reassure you that she is doing well. We are all sending her our love.”
Woods is a regular presenter of men’s and women’s football on ITV and TNT Sports.
He also worked as a radio presenter on Talksport.
