Minister Donald Trump A presidential memorandum was signed Wednesday directing the United States to withdraw from 66 international organizations, ordering executive departments and agencies to halt participation in and funding of organizations that the administration says no longer serve U.S. interests.

Memorandum This review, which is a follow-up to the review the State Department ordered under Executive Order 14199 earlier this year, applies to 35 non-United Nations organizations and 31 United Nations agencies, according to the White House.

Trump said he reviewed the following in the memorandum: Secretary Rubio’s findings and determined that it is contrary to the interests of the United States to remain affiliated with, participate in, or otherwise provide support to the listed organizations.

The decision instructs all administrative departments and institutions to take immediate steps to process withdrawals as quickly as possible. For United Nations organizations, withdrawal means ceasing participation or funding to the extent permitted by law.

According to the White House, investigation by other international organizations is ongoing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Marco Rubio He said the withdrawals fulfilled an important commitment of Trump’s presidency.

Rubio said the administration concluded that the institutions were “by their very nature unnecessary, mismanaged, redundant, wasteful, mismanaged, hijacked by the interests of actors advancing their own agendas contrary to ours, or a threat to the sovereignty, liberties, and general welfare of our nation.”
