England vs South Africa: Harry Brook’s team beaten at Lord’s to lose series

The weak form of the UK’s white ball continued by South Africa because they were beaten with a second -day international and series with a spare game.

On Tuesday, headingley was not almost unilateral as hammer, but it did not reflect the nature of a five -stage margin competition.

On this ground, 331, which will represent the highest successful chase in an ODI, was insufficient at 325-9 in England.

The defeat of the series has been the fifth in the UK’s first and 2023 World Cup since Harry Brook has been responsible for the White Ball team in the early summer.

Under humid conditions, England chose the field and reduced South Africa to 93-3, only for the reconstruction of Matthew Breetzke and Tristan Stubbs. Breetzke 85 and Stubbs 58.

Only 20 wholesale 42 of Dewald Brevis lifted South Africa to 330-8. Jofra Archer demanded four small gates, Jacob Bethell and Will Jacks cost a combined 10 sailor spin from 112.

England lost Jamie Smith and I Ducket for Kazba 18, but the chase was fired by Bethell’s 58. Joe Root 61 with a perfect touch, England was in the hunting in 143-2.

Bethell was cut to the point and with a root distance, stump, two small doors fell to add only four runs.

From that moment on, England has never reached the top of the chase. Jos Buttler made 61, Brook 33 and Jacks 39 without control.

Archer entertained the crowd of thinning, and the last man needed 16 in Saqib Mahmood’s company. Spinner Senuran Muthusamy held his nerve and Archer could not find six of the final delivery to connect the points.

For the first time since 2006, England must win dead rubber in Southampton on Sunday to avoid being on the wrong end of a clean sweep.
