Rafah Closure will Delay Return of Hostage Bodies

Hamas said on Saturday that closing the Rafah crossing between Egypt and Gaza would cause significant delays in the delivery of the hostages’ bodies.

The group said in a statement that the ongoing closure “blocked access to specialized equipment needed to search for those missing under the rubble and prevented forensic teams and the tools needed to identify bodies,” leading to “significant delays in retrieving and transporting remains.”
