Federal agents use teargas on protesters outside ICE agents’ alleged Minneapolis hotel | Minneapolis

The demonstration came two days after U.S. border patrol personnel killed Pretti, a 37-year-old nurse, at the local Veterans Administration hospital. ICE agent Jonathan Ross killed another U.S. citizen, Renee Nicole Good, 37, in Minneapolis on January 7 as she tried to walk away from an encounter with him.

Democratic Minnesota governor Tim Walz, the running mate of Kamala Harris, who lost the 2024 presidential election to Trump, called on the White House to withdraw federal immigration enforcement officials from the city. Agents have been flocking there since December.

“President Trump, you can end this today,” Walz said Sunday. “Withdraw these people. Do humane, focused, effective immigration control; you have the support of all of us to do that.”
