Madras High Court summons MLA ‘Poovai’ Jagan Moorthy, ADGP Jayaram after they turn out to be suspects in abduction case

Mr Damodaran also said that the police arrested five defendants, including Sarathkumar, including the Puracchi Bharatham party of Mashwari, Vanaraja and MLA.

In addition to the party defender, the application said that the former police officer confessed the crime and his statements clearly talked about MLA’s participation in the crime. So far 7.5 Lakh was rescued from the defendant and only custody inquiry will reveal more details, he said.

When the judge wanted to know why the AdGP has not been arrested so far, the application said that the Tirmidardial police first wanted to arrest MLA and subject him to custody inquiry before taking action against AdGP. He also said that MLA had collected about 2,000 supporters and prevented the police from arrest him.

Justice Velmurgan said that the implementation of political cadres that prevent the police from fulfilling their duties would stop if the police convened outside the residence of the politicians and put pressure on all other supporters who prevented the legally assignment.
