UK must not keep changing prime ministers, says John Major | News

Speaking to BBC’s Newsnight on Friday (May 1), the former Conservative prime minister said constant leadership changes were “not a good idea”.
Sir John, who was prime minister from 1990 to 1997, praised the “sensible” US model where presidents can serve up to two terms.
Sir Keir Starmer becomes Britain’s fifth prime minister in a decade after David Cameron left office following the Brexit vote in 2016.
“You’re not there just to provide material to the media and plan your own career. You’re there to deal with the issues that ordinary people elected you for,” Sir John added.
