A severe earthquake of magnitude 7 occurred in Taiwan. No major damage was reported.
A major earthquake of magnitude 7 occurred in Taiwan’s coastal city of Yilan at 23:05 local time. Taiwan’s weather administration put the earthquake in category 4, stating that many buildings in Taipei were shaken and that the depth of the earthquake was 73 km (45 miles). No major damage has been reported so far.
Several videos of the earthquake were posted on X, but DNA could not independently verify the authenticity of the videos.
