Sophie Turner trains 8 hours daily for Lara Croft ‘Tomb Raider’ role

Sophie Turner is ready to go above and beyond to prepare for a role.
During an appearance SiriusXM’s “The Julia Cunningham Show” While promoting her upcoming thriller series “Steal,” Turner talked about the intense training she endured to prepare for her role as Lara Croft in the upcoming “Tomb Raider” movie.
After Cunningham asked Turner what her training regimen was like, the “Game of Thrones” alum made a surprising confession.

“We’ve been training five days a week, eight hours a day since February of last year, so it’s been a lot,” Turner said.
“What do you think is the most surprising thing you learned about your body while doing this?” Cunningham asked.
“I learned that I had a persistent back problem, but I also realized that if you’ve ever exercised before in your life, which I never have, it’s a lot easier to build muscle, so it took me months and months and months to get into good shape,” Turner admitted. “That’s what I learned.”

When Cunningham asked if her “GoT” role would work, Turner said: “No, I was the cool queen who didn’t have to do it. Also, I was the one getting beat up, not the one getting beat up. So, learning how to throw a punch and just learning how to throw a punch is pretty cool.”

Turner isn’t the only celebrity to undergo an intense transformation for a role.
Matt Damon He recently revealed how he got down to his “high school” weight to portray the legendary Greek hero Odysseus in the highly anticipated film “The Odyssey.”
During an appearance on Travis and Jason Kelce’s podcast, “New Hills” Damon, who reunited with director Christopher Nolan for his new action-fantasy film based on Homer’s epic poem “The Odyssey,” explained how the retired Philadelphia Eagles player accomplished his body transformation after the “Good Will Hunting” star noted that he was “pretty subjugated” in viral photos from the film’s set.

“Yeah, I was in really good shape,” Damon said. “I I lost a lot of weight“… [Christopher] “He said he wanted me to be weak but strong,” Damon said. “That’s weird.”

Damon said he made a significant change to his diet that helped him lose weight.
“I literally stopped eating gluten because of the other thing I did with my doctor,” she said. “I used to weigh between 185 and 200 pounds. And I did the whole movie at 167 pounds. I haven’t been that light since high school. So there was a lot of training and a really strict diet.”
