“But many voters — most Americans who voted for President Trump — think he’s done a strong job at the border. In fact, the number of border encounters has decreased, and the President touts that as a success. You obviously have problems with how he’s going about it, but has the president been successful in reducing border encounters — can you accept that?” Gutierrez asked.
Crockett said he wasn’t convinced the cap numbers were accurate.
“I will accept this what is being reported “Encounters at the border are lower,” Crockett said. “I will also say that we know that this administration has not been the most honest administration when it comes to reporting numbers, as we know that there have been reports that they have not been honest about their job numbers.”

Crockett called Trump’s enforcement of immigrants “inhumane.”
“What I can tell you is that he used a very inhumane method to carry out the migration,” Crockett said. “What I can also tell you is that he didn’t work his way through Congress, and what we need is comprehensive immigration reform. What I can also tell you is that we have had a historic number of people dying in ICE custody since he got in.”
“At the same time, what I can tell you is that a historic number of American citizens have been arrested, and what I can tell you is that this Supreme Court, unfortunately, has given it carte blanche to go after people because of their accent or the way they look, and that is wrong.”
