The Foreign Minister of the Taliban government Amir Khan Muttaqi will visit India by marking the first journey since the seizure of Afghanistan. When the Taliban captured Kabul, the celebrations exploded in Pakistan, while Islamabad historically tried to limit the participation of India-Afghanistan. Muttaqi’s visit to Pakistan created concern, especially with Afghanistan, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provinces full of separatist movements and ongoing clashes with the Pakistani army. This development may have significant strategic and safety consequences for Islamabad, considering India’s diplomatic and economic ties with Kabul.
In today’s DNA section, we will analyze the situation and we will decrease what it means with the potential impact of this visit.

Waiver for element muttaqi
The United Nations Security Council Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan gave permission to travel to India. Since the Taliban government was not officially recognized by the UN, his international trip was restricted.
- – This visit could have been before, but when Pakistan organized the Presidency of the ENC, Muttaqi prevented permission for a trip to India.
- – Now, thanks to India’s diplomatic initiatives, Muttaqi has received a temporary waiver of international travel restrictions.
- – Between 9 and 16 October, it was cleaned to visit the new Delhi.
- – He will meet with India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar during his visit.
- – This will be the first visit to India by a Taliban leader since their inherits in Afghanistan.
Why Pakistan sees his visit as a threat to the Taliban Foreign Minister
Now the question arises, why does Pakistan perceive the increasing ties between India and Afghanistan as a great threat?
- – Pakistan sees India’s relationship with the Taliban as a direct challenge to its regional influence.
- – Taliban is more closely interacting with India as a way to reduce dependence on Pakistan.
- – Afghanistan showed interest in using the Chabahar port of Iran, a project developed by India for trade. This provides Kabul an alternative trade route that jumps Pakistan.
- – Such movements weaken Islamabad’s economic and strategic influence in Afghanistan.
- -Pakistan also accuses Afghanistan of refuge in the provocation-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants who continue to attack the Pakistan army and demand the Sharia law in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
- – With the support of India, a stronger Afghanistan can worsen the difficulties of Islamabad in this restless state.
- – Pakistan also claims that Afghanistan has helped the Baloch Independence Army fighting for independence in Balochistan, and that the Cooperation of India-Afghan may further further exacerbate the uprising.
Refugees and increasing tensions
The refugee crisis is another glare point. Pakistan’s movement to deport the Afghan refugees forced ties with Kabul. After Sindoor, India’s successful operation, Taliban clearly supported the new Delhi while rejecting the allegations that Pakistan’s Indian missiles fell into Afghanistan. Taliban also held Pakistan indirectly, while condemning the expensive terrorist attack.
Shortly after the Sindoor Operation, on May 15, 2021, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar organized a telephone conversation with contact muttaqi at the first minister level since 2021. Jaishankar praised the Taliban for condemning the expensive attack and underlined India’s “traditional friendship” with the Afghan people.
Now, while the Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi is preparing to visit India, talks are expected to focus on India’s development projects in Afghanistan. However, Pakistan is afraid that this visit may directly affect the geography and deteriorate a hidden Indian-Afghan agreement that can deteriorate the unrest in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
