WW3 fears erupt as US Marines told to be ready – ‘prepare your family’ | World | News

U.S. Navy reservists have received a letter urging them to be prepared for potential Iran-related deployment. In the notice sent by Lieutenant General Leonard F. Anderson IV, Commander of the Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES), he warned sailors to check their equipment, preparations and personal affairs in case mobilization orders are issued.
In his March 26 letter, Lieutenant General Anderson emphasized that forces had already “engaged in Iran-related operations” and that any mass mobilization “could occur.” The letter shared on social media says, “Sailors, Our nation is going through an important period. Global events shape the security of our nation and we must be ready.” “I ask you directly: Are you truly ready to fight, fight, and win? Are your skills sharp, your standards high, and your equipment ready to go at a moment’s notice?”
The letter continues: “Are your family’s affairs okay? Your readiness when the call comes will be assumed, not questioned. Your readiness is not a declaration, but a daily commitment.”
Founded in 1916 and headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, MARFORRES is the reserve force of the U.S. Marine Corps and provides operational reinforcement to active duty forces. It consists of approximately 33,000 personnel training part-time, maintaining the same standards as active duty units, typically following a “one weekend a month, two weeks a year” training schedule.
The letter instructs Marines to ensure that desert MARPAT (Marine Pattern) uniforms are available and that all equipment is packed and ready for immediate action.
“Check your readiness. Tighten your standards. Prepare your family. Our nation expects a disciplined, capable force ready for immediate action. That force is the Marine Corps Reserve. That standard starts with you and must be held by you. THE FIGHT IS ON!”
After receiving the letter, many reservists expressed confusion and disappointment about this matter. redditHe admitted that they were caught off guard.
One of the first responses said: “Damn this….never deployed, this is like screwing yourself before you even start preparations? I’m confused what my leadership just sent me.”
Many saw the letter as an urgent wake-up call that the conflict in Iran could escalate to greater proportions: “This is alarming…” one person wrote.
But some veterans pointed out the contractual reality of military service: “Your reason for fighting is whatever our government wants. It’s literally in the contract you sign.”
