Tana Ramsay reveals what she said to Adam Peaty’s estranged mother about him and her ‘incredibly vulnerable daughter’ before their wedding after chef Gordon defended his family’s behaviour amid feud

Tana Ramsay has revealed what Adam Peaty’s estranged mother Caroline told her before marrying her ‘vulnerable’ daughter Holly.

Olympian Adam, 31, married Tana and Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Holly, 26, at Bath Abbey in December amid a fierce row in which her 60-year-old mother was not invited and sister Bethany was the only relative in attendance.

And Tana, 51, said: grazia She told how she praised Adam to his mother before the big day.

He said: ‘I remember saying to Adam’s mother when I met him. “God, you have a wonderful son. I couldn’t think of anyone more perfect for Holly, who is incredibly emotional and incredibly vulnerable about things.”

‘He’s funny, smart and witty, but he also needs to follow the rules. The man manages to do all of these. He’s been through a lot. He’s been through a lot.

‘I remember telling her mother she was perfect for our daughter. ‘I’m so glad I met him and told him that.’

Gordon, 59, has previously defended the family when it comes to the Peaty/Ramsay dispute, saying it was ‘because of their own doing’.

She said: ‘We sent a car with a driver to come to the engagement party and treated them like royalty. So being subjected to this barrage of press was very hurtful. Tana took this very seriously.’

On Monday, Adam’s estranged mother Caroline posted a message about ‘dark times’ after Gordon hit back at claims he was a bully.

After being branded a “bully” by the Peaty family for claiming the problem was “self-inflicted”, Gordon accused them of talking “complete nonsense” and unleashing a “barrage of negativity”.

Caroline went on to share a serene image of the sunset with the words: ‘You are living proof that you can go through the darkest of times and still come out kind, radiant, true and loving.’

Responding to the family’s claim, the chef, who walked his daughter down the corridor last week, told The Sun: ‘I am absolutely not a bully and to even suggest there was any bullying is appalling,’ he sighed.

‘This is absolute nonsense. It was sad to see the barrage of negativity launched by them.

‘But Adam is an incredible young lad and he and Holly are a wonderful, happy young couple.’

A relative claimed the TV chef was now ‘taking the family too far’.

They said: ‘How brave they are. The sheer courage of these.

‘The Ramsays did not treat Caroline as royalty in any way; They treated him like he was nothing. They ignored her presence and Miss Ramsay never once returned any of Caroline’s messages.’

They told The Sun: ‘The promised lunch on the engagement day never took place either.’

Last month the family reportedly told friends they had ‘given up hope’ of reconciling with their son after Gordon’s latest social media comment.

The chef referred to himself as ‘dad’ in his comment on Adam’s wedding video, and the Olympian said he would ‘always choose’ new wife Holly.

An insider said: ‘It was a really emotional time for them as a family. They are starting to accept what happened and that Adam chose his side.

‘It destroyed any hope of reconciliation in the near future. They keep their heads down and try to move forward silently. It’s clear Adam has made his choice.’

Commenting on how beautiful his daughter looked during his wedding speech, Ramsay told Adam: ‘Look at Tana, that’s what you have to look forward to.’

The publication went on to claim Adam couldn’t resist a sly dig at his absent parents, as he told his daughter Holly: ‘It’s a shame you don’t have the same.’

It was later revealed that the swimmer’s estranged mother was ‘angry’ and ‘hurt’ when Ramsay referred to their fight in his speech.

Adam and Holly looked happier than ever as they put aside their family drama with Adam's family to support Gordon's new reality show, which airs on Wednesday.

A family source told the Daily Mail she was horrified at the moment of the conversation and believed the celebrity chef had ‘pre-planned’ the brutal attack on her, describing it as ‘cruel’ and ‘very hurtful’.

But Ramsay doubled down on his speech when he appeared on This Morning in January, insisting that what he had to say at the wedding ceremony was ‘perfect and warm’.

He said: ‘It’s hard to be honest. As a father of three daughters, you dream of that moment and then it comes and you’re a complete mess.

‘But the speech was excellent, it went well and you have to find that… You have to be warm, emotional… It’s a tough job.’

Adam and Holly showed their support for Gordon by presenting a united front at the TV chef’s new Netflix show launch party on Monday.

Coming to the streaming platform on Wednesday, Gordon Ramsay follows his lead in launching his biggest restaurant venture to date, opening five culinary experiences at 22 Bishopsgate, one of London’s tallest buildings.

The TV star will also open the doors to his home for a six-month period, where he will balance the challenges of being a husband and father of six children.
