Former Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe set to stand trial over alleged assault of a woman

Former Liverpool winger Jordan Ibe will stand trial for allegedly attacking a woman.

The 30-year-old man pleaded not guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

The court heard the alleged attack took place in Lambeth, south London, on December 14.

Ibe, who played 41 games for Liverpool before playing for Derby County, Birmingham City and AFC Bournemouth, was told that his hearing would be held in the same court on July 14.

Ibe, who lives in Chislehurst, Bromley, south-east London, was released on conditional bail at the end of the 13-minute hearing and it was decided to appear in court for his next hearing.

The Metropolitan Police previously said Ibe was arrested at Luton Airport on January 30 and charged last month.

The former England under-21 international currently plays for Lokomotiv Sofia in the Bulgarian First League, the Balkan country’s highest league.

Ibe has made 58 appearances in all competitions since making his Liverpool debut in 2012.

He played 92 times for Bournemouth between 2016 and 2020.

He had been playing non-league football for the past two years before securing a move to the Bulgarian capital in November 2025.

In January, it was reported that Ibe appeared in court for allegedly trying to buy sleeping pills using a fake prescription.

He was accused twice of using a fake prescription to try to obtain the insomnia drug Zolpidem.

The footballer allegedly used a fake prescription at a Hornsey Road pharmacy in north London on May 24, 2024, and returned four days later to buy more of the same medicine.

During the second visit, Ibe’s allegedly fraudulent prescription was seized by a suspicious pharmacy employee.
