Master Lock Comanche the favourite, weather forecast, start time, results, how to watch
As we reported earlier in the week, the Sydney to Hobart racing fleet will hold a memorial service for the victims of the Bondi terror attack as the fleet passes the coast today.
Admiral of the Australian Cruise Yacht Club, Sam Haynes, announced that 15 boats would be the first to attend the commemoration ceremony, where rose petals will be scattered in the water as they pass Bondi for the 15 people who died in the attack. But this morning Haynes said there had been an overwhelming response from race participants who also wanted to show their respects.

The club now expects the entire fleet to attend the memorial service. That’s what Haynes said this morning.
“The commemoration that we are talking about in relation to the tragic events in Bondi on Sunday the 14th was very well received by the Jewish community, but it was also recognized internationally,” he said.

“I would also like to thank the people who wanted to be at the commemoration, there are rose petals behind. [of the club]. We actually have plenty, Mr. Roses. [business] We actually provided extra in case we wanted it, which I think we do, if anyone wants to grab some and spread out as they pass Bondi.
Haynes announced the memorial at a weather briefing on Wednesday and invited other captains to join the 15 boats.
Haynes said the memorial service was “for the members of the Jewish community and our community who were unfortunately killed in the terrorist attack that day.”
