Ley avoids leadership challenge, formally dumps net zero target; Fishing boats at centre of controversial Border Force operation
Independent MP Dai Le expressed his sympathy for Opposition Leader Sussan Ley this morning, describing her as “tough” to survive the “decimation” the Liberal Party has suffered in recent weeks.
“He’s strong. He’s survived. He’s a tough opposition leader and the Liberal Party has sort of been decimated and it takes a lot of work to rebuild a party and people need to give him a chance,” Le told Nine’s. Today show this morning.

He said it’s important for Liberals to use this opportunity to think about accommodation.
“I think the whole party really needs to look at how you want to be a really good opposition and you need to be united to continue the fight… I feel like the opposition caucuses are trying to hold the government accountable, but I think [we need to] “There is strong opposition to hold the government accountable.”
