Staggering trend of workers ‘turning to alcohol’ because of job stress revealed

New research found that almost two -thirds of workers had more alcohol due to stress or pressure on their work.

Alcohol exchange by the UK reported that 64 percent of the UK workers received alcohol for work -related reasons – with work stress, pressure and anxiety behind the increasing consumption in the last 12 months.

Four of 10 people said that they had more alcohol due to work worries, and 38 percent of them drank more to deal with work stress.

On the third, he drank more alcohol due to pressure or attempt in the workplace, and 29 percent reported the increasing alcohol consumption due to work insecurity.

Research Group Alcohol Change Jane Gardiner, President of the UK, said: “Although our work changes to a great extent, this research shows that most of us drink more alcohol to manage stress, anxiety, pressure and occupational safety.

“However, bad sleep and high blood pressure from the evening, depression and other health conditions, alcohol can cause great damage to our health and welfare.

“While some can offer a short -term relief, it is more likely to lead to a self -disinfection cycle that may be difficult to deteriorate and break, even if we want to focus on stress, anxiety and pressure over time.”

The research was published to mark the beginning of the Alcohol Awareness Week and received demand from employees for preventive action and training around alcohol in the workplace.

This year’s theme ‘alcohol and work’ focuses on how the working environments and prints can affect our drinking way and create healthier, more inclusive workplace cultures.

More than 8 of the workers who participated in the survey believes that employers have the responsibility to address alcohol in the workplace – but more than one third said they felt more comfortable in the workplace than to talk more comfortably than alcohol.

Gardiner added: “It is very encouraging to reflect the progress seen in mental health in the workplace in order to carry out speeches in recent years, to reduce compassion and support and stigma, to see such a strong appetite for alcohol awareness and education from workers.

“Very positive, employees, preventive, proactive action, when a problem presents the reactive action is seen to realize that alcohol factors are located.

“Such a support that will begin to make alcohol less of a taboo subject, increase awareness of our drinking habits on our overall health and prosperity and prevent prevented alcohol damage before realizing.”
