Tamil Nadu Assembly election: 163 FIRs registered over social media posts violating poll code

A total of 163 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered so far on charges of violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) through social media posts. April 23 Assembly election in Tamil Nadu.

As many as 2,180 URLs were blocked/removed by social media platforms. Authorities registered FIRs after the leaflets resembling checks worth ₹8,000 were seized.
