The Harur (Right) Assembly constituency will face a two-way competition, but this will require a tough fight for the DMK for many reasons.

The constituency had consistently brought back the huge vote margins that had propelled DMK’s Lok Sabha candidates to victory in both 2019 and 2024. However, the people of Harur made a different choice during the Assembly elections and consciously chose to part ways with the DMK, as evidenced by the winning margins. AIADMK won the seat for three consecutive terms in the 2016, 2019 by-elections and 2021.
