Teacher Teams to Inspect and Monitor Government Schools in Telangana

Hyderabad: The government will deploy teams of teachers to government schools to supervise, monitor and inspect public and parochial schools. According to school education director E. Naveen Nicolas, each team will inspect 100 primary schools and 50 high schools every three months. The decision was taken in line with the instructions given by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy during the review meeting to improve the standard of education.
District education officers (DEOs) have been instructed to form inspection teams based on the number of schools in their districts. Two percent of teachers working in the state government will work as inspectors. There will be two members and a node officer in the teams that inspect primary and high schools. Those who inspect high schools will consist of nine members, including the newspaper director.
The teams will report back to the relevant DEOs on a weekly basis. All findings and reports from inspections will be recorded on the department’s online portal.
The proposed mechanism is designed to strengthen the teaching-learning process by providing targeted interventions and resources where needed. Inspectors will need to check academic subjects, completion of the curriculum according to the academic calendar, libraries, laboratories and physical education activities.
