Teen, 15, charged over alleged horror machete attack on Sydney light rail

A teenager has been charged with an alleged machete attack on the light rail system in Sydney’s CBD.
NSW Police received reports of an attack on the light rail service at City Hall on George Street at around 10.30pm on Tuesday.
The two boys allegedly attacked a third 15-year-old boy on the tram and fled before police arrived.
The 15-year-old young man was treated by medical teams for a stab wound on his left arm and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police considered the light rail service a crime scene and transported it to Randwick depot for forensic examination.
On Thursday, cops arrested a 15-year-old teenager at a home in Sydney’s inner south.
A knife sheath was also seized from the house and taken for examination.
The teenager was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He is being held in custody to appear in juvenile court on Friday.
Police are continuing their efforts to catch the second young man involved in the alleged attack.
