Teen, Friend Held For Woman’s Murder In Rajam

Police arrested the Class 10 student and his friend after finding that the student’s mother had been murdered in Rajam town of Vizianagaram district on May 4.

The victim’s son and his friend went missing shortly after the incident, prompting an intense investigation to find them. Using CCTV footage and technical evidence, the police tracked down the duo in Tirupati and arrested them.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Cheepurupalli DSP Raghavulu said that the young Class 10 student was upset over the strict discipline allegedly imposed by his mother. Police said her son became more restrictive after learning that he had written a love letter to a girl studying at the school.
During this period, the boy reportedly became friends with an intermediate student whom he met on the cricket field. Investigators said the two frequently discussed personal and family problems.
According to the police, the Grade 10 student allegedly expressed his intention to kill his mother, while other youths encouraged him and suggested that they run away together later.
Police said the suspect planned the murder in advance. They hid inside the house. It was claimed that as soon as the 10th grade student’s mother entered the room, the duo attacked her and strangled her. Noticing slight movements on his body, the police brought a knife from the kitchen and stabbed him.
After the murder, the duo threw the body into the pond behind the house. They took 5 tons of gold jewelry, cash and a mobile phone from the house before fleeing.
The police seized the stolen ornaments from the suspect.

44 people had diarrhea after consuming stale food

As many as 44 people fell ill after consuming stale food in Kothareddypalem village of Chebrole mandal in Guntur district.

Local people tried to pull Lahari out of the well but to no avail. Korukonda police came to the scene and pulled the girl out of the well. On Friday, the investigation was completed and Korukonda police registered a case.
