Teenage boy arrested after death of 13-year-old girl in West Yorkshire | Huddersfield

Police said that a young man was arrested on suspicion of rape and murder after the death of a 13 -year -old girl in Western Yorkshire.
Officers were called to an apartment on the Sheepridge Road in Huddersfield on Monday night to inform a girl that she was unresponsive. Western Yorkshire police said the victim died in the hospital and that his death was “unexplained” after a post -death examination.
A 16 -year -old child from Huddersfield was arrested and detained on suspicion of murder and rape.
The suspect said in a statement on Thursday that he had been arrested on suspicion of another rape crime about a 16 -year -old girl from a separate incident in Kirklees region.
DCI Stacey Atkinson said: “A postmortem could not determine how he died, and we continue to act as unexplained when he was waiting for more investigations.
“These investigations are complex and it takes a long time to fully understand the conditions of the death of the girl.”
West Yorkshire police said: “The police were called by the ambulance service to an address in Huddersfield on Monday, August 11th at 11.36 at Huddersfield.
“The 13 -year -old was taken to the hospital in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
“Postmortem examination was done [on Wednesday] This was not explained that the death of the girl was waiting for more investigations. “
