Teenager stabbed to death by her uncle in Warasiguda

A 19-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her uncle at her home in Warasiguda, Bapuji Nagar, on Monday morning, while her mother and sister were at home.

The victim had completed the secondary course and was preparing to enroll for graduation. His uncle Uma Shankar (25), who works and lives in Jawaharnagar, is absconding.

According to Warasiguda Sub-Inspector T. Sudhakar, the two were expected to get married on Sankranti next year. “Last week, Uma Shankar had asked him not to go to a temple in Vijayawada with his family, but he traveled with them and returned on Sunday,” the officer said.

Shankar confronted him on Monday morning about the trip. After the argument, the suspect attacked with the knife in his hand. Warasiguda police registered a case and launched a search to find him.
