Telangana SIR | Directions issued to conduct awareness programmes in urban pockets

Electoral Registration Officers (ERO) have been directed to conduct comprehensive awareness programs on Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in urban parts of Telangana, focusing on slums, high-rise buildings and gated communities. To facilitate the process, census forms will be available in both English and Telugu.

As part of the SIR process, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct house-to-house visits in the State from 25 June to 24 July 2026.

At a review meeting held in Hyderabad on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudharshan Reddy directed the officials to conduct the process in a transparent and error-free manner.

EROs have been instructed to provide adequate training to BLOs who play key roles in the process and to continually review the quality of their work, providing additional retention support where necessary to expedite the mapping process.
