Now, more than three months after the shocking incident, the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) has issued a notice to TVK chief Vijay to appear for questioning at the agency’s headquarters in Delhi on January 12 in connection with the Karur stampede case. India’s domestic crimes investigation agency has already questioned several officials of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in the case. The CBI has now decided to search for Vijay after which he may take a summons to file a chargesheet in the matter. Following the Supreme Court order, the Special Investigation Team took over the case and the investigating agency has been collecting evidence regarding the stampede since then.

Meanwhile, Tamil political action thriller Jana Nayagan has a strong cast comprising Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain and Priyamani, along with Vijay. Directed by H Vinoth, the film will also be released in dubbed versions as Jana Nayakudu in Telugu and Jan Neta in Hindi.

Slated to release in theaters on January 9, Vijay’s 69th and final film will clash at the box office with the Prabhas-led Telugu horror comedy film The Raja Saab, which also stars Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan and Riddhi Kumar. The Maruthi directorial will also be released in dubbed versions in Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam, while the Tamil version will also hit theaters a day later on January 10.
