Magnitude 5.6 Earthquake Hits Afghanistan, Tremors Felt In Jammu And Kashmir | India News

According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), a strong earthquake of magnitude 5.6 occurred 47 kilometers north-northwest of Khandūd, Afghanistan, at 05:30 on Friday. The earthquake, which occurred at a depth of 51 kilometers, was also felt in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier the same day, a 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred 133 kilometers east of Kabul at a depth of 10 kilometers, the National Center for Seismology reported. The German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) confirmed a magnitude 5.66 earthquake near the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border.
