Burnley fire LIVE: Warburtons factory blaze erupts today as smoke seen for miles | UK | News

A fire has been reported at Warburtons Factory in Burnley as smoke filled the skies above the town. Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a fire at a commercial property on Billington Road, off Rossendale Road, just before 3pm.

Twelve fire engines are currently on duty, with residents advised by Lancashire Fire and Rescue to “avoid the area to avoid disrupting firefighting operations”.

Warburton confirmed the affected area was its factory. A spokesman said: “Thankfully we can confirm everyone was safely evacuated from the building. We are grateful to fire crews who are now working extremely hard to bring the fire under control. We do not yet know the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage.”

Burnley businessman and Netflix’s Bank of Dave star David Fishwick raised the alarm after spotting a massive fire at the Warburtons factory and its trucks while flying high.
