Bangladesh Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has issued a notice declaring ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 260 others as fugitives in a sedition case linked to the “Joy Bangla Brigade” platform, Dhaka Tribune reported. The notice, published in both English and Bengali on Friday, was signed by CID Special Inspector (Media) Jasim Uddin Khan and was issued on the orders of the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court, Dhaka Tribune reported. The announcement was published in two newspapers in Bangladesh, The Daily Star and Amar Desh.

On Thursday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court 17 Judge Ariful Islam declared Sheikh Hasina and 260 others as fugitives and ordered the publication of the notice, Dhaka Tribune reported.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has completed its hearing against Sheikh Hasina, who allegedly committed crimes against humanity, and will announce its verdict on November 13.
The former Prime Minister is on trial for crimes against humanity for allegedly being part of planning the torture and disappearances of multiple people during the Awami League regime. Hasina was forced to flee after a student-led uprising toppled her in August 2024. Later, Nobel laureate Muhammed Yunus was appointed as the head of the interim government.
