Ex-WWE champ Jake Hager suffers devastating Power Slap defeat

Jake Hager, a former WWE champion and All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star, made his second round of the Power Slap arena on Friday night.

Hager was slapping Amanpreet Singh. The former sports pitcher lined up his right hand across from Hager. He slapped her with all his might, and Hager fell forward onto the officers and passed out.

The final slap came in the third round. Hager took two meaty slaps before Singh’s final strike. Hager stood stunned on the floor as Singh took off his shirt in celebration. Hager did not immediately react to the knockout defeat.

This was Hager’s first Power Slap loss since making his debut in April. He beat Devin Jenkins by third-round knockout before going up against Singh.

Hager announced in March that he would try his hand at the Power Slap.

He came to the company with a background in amateur wrestling and mixed martial arts. He broke the single-season record for most pins in the 285-pound weight class with the Oklahoma Sooners. He also had four appearances with Bellator, going 3-0 with the company and a no contest in one of them.

Hager was involved in professional wrestling from 2006 to 2025. Over the years he has appeared in WWE, Lucha Underground, Major League Wrestling and AEW.

He held WWE’s World Heavyweight Championship, ECW Championship, United States Championship, and won the Money in the Bank ladder match during his time there. He was part of Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle in AEW.
