The Buffalo Bills will not honor OJ Simpson at their new stadium, and you can probably figure out why

The Buffalo Bills are preparing to move into their brand new stadium; but one franchise legend won’t be among the franchise greats at the new Highmark Stadium.
And I’ll give you a guess as to who it is.
Yep, OJ Simpson… that was an easy job.

Despite his turbulent post-football life — which might be an understatement of the century — “Juice,” who died in 2024, was honored at the team’s soon-to-be former home stadium.
He played for the Bills from 1969 to 1977, then began announcing, acting, and—allegedly, despite being acquitted for the first time before the law— other things.
But he was a superstar at the time, leading the league in scoring for four seasons and receiving all kinds of accolades.
So deciding how to handle his complicated legacy can be a bit of a challenge, and at least in their new stadium, the Bills are drawing a very clear line in the sand: No Juice.

“We have made an organizational decision that he is not suitable for display in our new stadium and Family Circle,” Bills COO Pete Guelli said in a statement. Score.
Wait… isn’t the alleged double murderer executed for stealing his own memory fit for display in your new stadium?
NY GOVERNOR KATHY HOCHUL TRIED TO GET A BILLING SONG TO GO TO THE NEW STADIUM, AND COMPLETELY FAILED.
WHAT?!
Not even a post-prison tribute to OJ? Does anyone have a Twitter account? Who wants to ride around in a golf cart spinning yarn and giving fantasy football advice?
Anyway, it’s up to you…

Of course, this is a smart move. In this day and age, they couldn’t unfurl an OJ banner or bust their new stadium without having to spend at least a few days in full-blown PR crisis mode.

And no one wants to do this.
But hey, whether the team puts him in the stadium or not, we all know what he does on and off the field.
