Three young people are accused of opening fire on an custody facility and causing significant damage.
The police were called to the Ashley Youth Detention Center in Tasmania at around 15.00 on Sunday after the reports of a discomfort containing three armed youth.
The triple, allegedly opened fire on a building while the police were there, third and one 15 years old. Nobody was injured.
On Monday, they destroyed the arson and destroyed the property and planned to appear in a youth court.
A Tasmanian Fire Department and police judicial officers returned to a “important” damaged center to a region on Monday.
Police Minister Felix Ellis said that the center of the center was closed and the government was working with the staff to ensure that service and food can be provided.
In his final report in 2023, an investigation into child sexual abuse in state institutions suggested that the center be closed as soon as possible and stated that it pose an ongoing risk of abuse.
In 2024, the State Government carried out a class of 75 million dollars with more than 100 former prisoners who were allegedly exposed to serious injuries in the center from 1961 to 2019.
The center will not close until the government built a reserve youth detention facility in 2028.
Mr. Ellis said that the government is determined to help young people to get back to their way with therapeutic rehabilitation.
