The gift of a shiny gold bell from the King did not make Trump listen on Iran
P.Pissing off the US president with a shiny bell that says Trump might have been a masterstroke of the King’s soft power diplomacy. Indeed, artifacts from the last submarine, HMS Embers The US president’s sentimental affection for things British may still remain.

The background of the AI image shows fortresses made from Hesco Bastion walls of the type used by US forces throughout the Middle East and Afghanistan, exploding under attacks from what we assume are American bombs and missiles.
Like the motivation for attacking Iran in the first place, Trump appears to enjoy the feeling of power but has no idea of the consequences or what a successful wielding of it would look like.
The US has blown up many people and places in Iran as well as Israel. They attacked the nuclear facilities there, decimated the naval and air forces, and drove the security forces (literally) underground.
But the regime is still there, it refuses to give up its ambition to build nuclear weapons, there has been no popular uprising against the ayatollahs, and the world economy is being strangled by Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz.
This was all predictable and foreseeable. But Trump ignored advice not to attack alongside his friend Benjamin Netanyahu, who faces International Criminal Court charges for crimes against humanity; because he wanted the immediate excitement of the moment, like a toddler reaching for a cake that would make him sick.
Friendly uncle III. The guidance Charles carefully laid out during his speech to Congress was ignored by Trump because he was resistant to hearing things he didn’t want to hear.
It now has the bright bell from HMS EmbersIndeed, he might want to install it on one of his expensive fantasy projects—the $17 billion-per-ship Trump Class warships he has ordered the U.S. Navy to inspect.
He wants to see them in service by 2028. These do not exist except for AI renderings based on the president’s own demands to be “100 times more powerful” than previous ships armed with railguns, lasers and hypersonic missiles.
The problem is that these weapons are mostly only available at the concept stage.
What Trump likes to call his Gold Fleet is an exciting idea, and like his White House ballroom expansion, plans for the Trumpian Triumphal Arch in Washington, and other monuments of his own, they are signs; not of madness, but of the assumption of absolute power.
Why else would his own White House be his III? Why would she post a photo of herself with Charles with the caption “TWO KINGS”?
