The incredible floating fort that was turned into luxury hotel but is now abandoned | UK | News

A luxurious retreat, which was once built in a historical marine castle, is now abandoned in a frightening way on a floating hotel on the coast of England. No Man’s Land Fort, which is located in Solent waters near Wight Island, is currently a 150 -year -old Victorian sea castle that stands empty and deserted. The Granite castle, which was initially built as a part of a defense network against a possible French invasion in the 1860s, reached approximately 99,000 feet frames on four floors.

However, now 23 en-Suite bedrooms, five-themed rods, restaurants, crews and hot bathtubs, sauna and a treatment room, all surrounded by panoramic sea views. The abandoned hotel has a bar, a fire pit, a barbecue area and even a groove with a laser war arena, while lower levels include game rooms and special dining areas.

The castle has its own fresh water well, diesel generators and sewage treatment plant, which makes it completely self -sufficient and accessible by boat or helicopter.

It has been operating as a four-star hotel for about five years, after Covid-19 erupted, it was closed in 2020 and its doors remained closed since then.

Later, he came under the hammer and was purchased last year for £ 1.25 million at the auction in June 2024.

Edward Ward, a London -based investor, described the purchase as a “impulse purchase”, and admitted that it was a great separation from the usual investments he made in technology stocks.

Although Ward does not have a direct history in hospitality, it sees potential on the site.

Ward said: “This is a unique property and an opportunity to re -emerge.

Now, the commercial real estate company Colliers has been tasked with finding a tenant to breathe a new life. Opportunities extend from restoring as a hotel or private members club to other ideas such as tube diving training facility or data centers.

“This is not just an interesting building, it’s a rare opportunity to leave a trace in a really unique place.

“Remote location provides great privacy or exclusivity for potential guests and customers. Edward is open to work with different multi -operators who give the opportunity to withstand this historic site.

“It can be a great place for more than one hospitality and entertainment operators, or a tenant can take the entire site, we are open to offers.”
