Head Constable accused of stealing cash suspended after FIR filed against him

A Head Constable attached to the city cyber crime police station has been suspended after an FIR was lodged against him for allegedly stealing cash and other valuables worth Rs 11 lakh from a car belonging to a suspect.
Vidhana Soudha police registered an FIR against Zabeeullah Gadiyal based on the complaint filed by the cyber crime station inspector.
Zabeeullah, along with his colleague, seized the suspect’s car in Devanahalli on December 13 and was brought to the police station for investigation. He then allegedly stole the bag containing money and other valuables.
The suspect, who was later released on bail, appeared before the police and when he checked his seized car, he saw that his money bag was missing.
Following the complaint, the police recovered the money and charged Zabeeullah with theft and breach of trust.
