Russian Model Goes Viral For Being An Erling Haaland Look-A-Like

While Norwegian football star Erling Haaland shines at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, his female counterpart in Russia is also making a splash on social media. Model Anastasia Kostromitina rose to fame on Instagram with video posts showing her impersonating Haaland, one of which has been viewed more than 110 million times.

Model Anastasia says: “A female friend told me that she noticed that I looked like a football player. Then my friends and family noticed. And so on.”

When Haaland became popular during this World Cup, a trend emerged on the internet with people who looked like him making videos. Model Anastasia thought why not do the same, especially since everyone was telling her about it.

His video has now been viewed more than 100 million times.

He added, “I never expected it to go this viral, but the views are still going up. Now I have more work and more commercials, and I think it’s great.”

Meanwhile, an Erling Haaland lookalike contest was held in Miami. As Norway’s World Cup run gathers pace, Haaland lookalikes took to the stage in Miami on Saturday (July 11), prompting fans to pay tongue-in-cheek tribute to the star striker.
