Arrive Alive Road Safety Campaign

Hyderabad: As a part of the “Come Alive” road safety campaign, an awareness seminar was held at ICCC Auditorium, Telangana on Wednesday, with the main objective of preventing road accidents.
To raise awareness, free helmets were distributed to children by Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar.
Addressing the meeting, Sajjanar said, “The role of Road Safety Committee members is very important in turning Hyderabad into an accident-free city.” he said. He expressed concern that the loss of one of his breadwinners in a car accident would devastate the entire family.
He pointed out that it is illegal to seat children under 12 years in the front seat of a car and stressed that, for their safety, they must be seated only in the rear seat.
He added that ‘No Helmet – No Entry’ hoardings should be installed in every colony to increase residents’ responsibility.
Joint commissioner (traffic) D. Joel Davis said, “Road safety is not only the responsibility of the police department but also the social duty of every citizen. Little rules followed while driving save lives.”
He noted that wearing an ISI marked helmet provides up to 80% protection against fatal head injuries.
Additionally, Cyberabad Traffic Police organized an awareness session for KLH University students.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr M. Ramesh addressed the students and provided guidance on road safety and social responsibility.
