The things Abdul Carter conveniently didn’t mention about his distaste for President Trump

The New York Giants have a lot of work to do with the return of Odell Beckham Jr. along with the addition of two more receivers in JuJu Smith-Schuster and Braxton Berrios, so the controversy that arose when Abdul Carter complained about teammate Jaxson Dart supporting President Donald Trump is on the backburner for now.

That’s what the Giants want.

Carter probably wants it that way because he certainly doesn’t need anyone to think critically about the episode.

DART AND CARTER HUG BUT DOES NOT APOLOGIZE

But WFAN hosts Craig Carton. The Cardboard Show with Chris McMonigle It looks like he’s given some thought to the saga and shared some of it with Dan Dakich on Don’t@Me.

“Abdul Carter had nothing to say when he held a press conference about his coach’s entire family meeting with the president,” Carton said. “When Saquon Barkley played golf, he had nothing to say.” [Trump]. No, they’re white people. It’s white people who piss off idiots.”

It’s not just white people. Because Harbaugh is White.

Carter found it easy to say: “If [Dart] “If he chooses to align himself with a guy like President Trump, it’s my responsibility to not only show my teammates that I’m against that, depending on what I believe in or what I stand for, but to show the world as well.”

This is without mentioning whether he has any issues with Harbaugh visiting Trump at the White House ahead of the 2025 season.

Carter also conveniently failed to mention that Lawrence Taylor, the greatest defensive player in franchise history, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and whose retired jersey Carter asked for permission to wear, is a Trump supporter.

ABDUL CARTER DELETE JAXSON DART’S CRITICISM ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Taylor has made several public appearances with Trump over the past few years, including at campaign rallies, White House events and golf outings.

One of the most notable appearances occurred in May 2024, when Taylor joined Trump on stage at a campaign rally in Wildwood, New Jersey. Trump introduced Taylor as “the best linebacker ever” and referred to Taylor and former Giants running back OJ Anderson as “golf partners.”

Taylor then offered one of her strongest endorsements of Trump, telling the crowd: “I grew up a Democrat and I’ve always been a Democrat — until I met this guy here.”

Taylor later added: [Trump] “I won’t have to worry about anyone in my family ever voting Democrat again.”

This came a month after Carter publicly claimed the honor of wearing Taylor’s retired number 56 jersey. Taylor declined the request and Carter now wears No. 3, but the sophomore player had obvious respect for Taylor.

Has that respect been diminished by Taylor’s sheer audacity in supporting Trump more openly than Dart?

We don’t know because Carter never criticized Taylor. Or his coach, Harbaugh.

Or has been asked for that matter.

This is where the New York media’s famous toughness failed last week.

They asked Dart if he made a mistake by being with Trump at a rally. They didn’t ask Carter if he made a mistake publicly calling out a teammate.

They asked Dart if he understood why promoting Trump would be considered controversial by some. They did not ask Carter whether he understood how Trump won the votes of 77 million Americans, the second-highest voter turnout in U.S. history, and that his distaste for the president would be considered controversial by some.

And yes, the media talked to Harbaugh, too. They did not ask the teacher his He’s meeting with Trump. And didn’t they ask Carter if his coach’s visit bothered him the same way?

So it can be assumed that the New York media also have reasons for wanting this story to end, as it paints some of this story in the light of incomplete work.

“People are always looking for something to hold onto to attack Trump supporters,” Carton told Dakich. “It’s interesting to me that a lot of people are upset about the second-year QB introducing the president, but I haven’t heard a member of the media say a word about Josh Jacobs allegedly choking his girlfriend.”
