The tiny little UK village set to be transformed into whole new 21,000-home town | UK | News

A quiet area on the edge of London’s Green Belt is on the verge of a dramatic transformation with its plans to move to transform Crews Hill, a small community in Enfield into a large town of thousands of new houses. The village -sized small community is now home to only 566 people. The area is located just in M25 with its own train station and about 12 miles away from the center of London and is known for its best garden centers and golf field.

Under new government -supported new proposals, it will now be one of the 12 new towns throughout England, which is now part of a national pressure to address the country’s housing crisis. The announcement comes after the approval of the new Towns task force of the government, which defines the crew Hill as a key site that can support large -scale development.

The Council determined that up to 21,000 new houses can be built with the nearby Chase Park, and 50% of them would be affordable, but it would depend on more work with the Council, the Government, Large London authority and other partners and other legal stakeholders.

In addition to housing, plans include new schools, GP surgeries, advanced public transport connections and the creation of thousands of new jobs.

Another important feature will be the development of the Enfield Chase Restoration Project, which will re -surround more than 1000 hectares of old agricultural lands and offer wetlands, new ponds and walking paths.

Plans also enable new public parks, new East-West bus routes, Crews Hill station, more train and better walking and bicycle paths.

Ergin Erbil, a member of the Assembly of Enfield Council, said: “This is once a lifetime to change their lives and help families grow and develop in Enfield.

“A brand new town built for family -sized houses and local people and shaped by local people. I am proud to accept that the new Towns mission force Crews Hill and Chase Park is a great place for a new community.

“We will continue to work closely with the government and the Great London authority and keep the residents up to date.

“Our goal is simple: making sure that people can stay in Enfield, raise their families and build their lives here. A new town will allow us to build thousands of family -sized house and council houses, all supported by quality services around the new public parks.

He continued: “We are definitely determined to do this right for our residents, and they will include every step of the road.”
