The US may have just won its 150-year war against Black voters

In 1870, the American Congress passed the 15th Amendment to the US Constitution. which indicates:

Part 1. The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.

Part 2. Congress shall have the authority to implement this article by appropriate legislation.

Within a year of its ratification, Congress passed three laws prohibiting public or private interference in voting on the basis of race or color.
