‘The Voice’ alum Jake Worthington steps away from music amid personal struggles

Country star Jake Worthington is stepping away from the spotlight.
The 30-year-old musician, who first gained fame by competing in “The Voice” competition in 2014, announced on social media that he was taking a break from country music on Friday.
“I live a life like my heroes live, but that life has taken over me,” Worthington wrote. instagram. “I love my family, my friends, and my fans too much to let them take over me. I need to take some time to work on myself for my wife and daughter.”
“I promise I’ll come back even better,” Worthington said. “God bless country music.”

Worthington isn’t the only country star taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the entertainment industry.

Earlier this year, country star Chase Rice announced his plans to step away from the touring life.
Rice wrote: “Okay guys, I wasn’t sure if I was going to talk about this but here we are. I’ve been touring for 13 years and I’ve lived a dream that’s way bigger than I ever expected.” instagram Release in January.

“This isn’t goodbye or anything like that, although it may feel like it, I’m just tired,” he said.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to be myself on stage and I really enjoy music and why I got into this in the first place,” he wrote, adding: “I love songs, I love living them, hearing stories from other people and figuring out how to put that life into music.”

Rice admitted that life on the road took a toll on him both physically and mentally.
“After 13 years, it finally got me to the point where I had to step away for a while,” he admitted. “I need to live life so I have more real experiences to write about.”
And he added: “I won’t be touring this year “And it wasn’t even really a decision, it was just something I knew I had to do for myself,” he said, describing the hiatus as an important moment in his personal life. “A lot of artists do this all the time, but it’s new to me, so it’s a big event in my life.”
