Man dies after shark attack in offshore fishing spot

One person died due to a suspected shark attack in fishing waters.
Emergency services were called to the Hull River boat ramp, about 160km south of Cairns in northern Queensland, shortly before 12pm on Sunday.
This follows reports that a man was attacked by a shark at Kennedy Shoal, an area of water in the Coral Sea.
Police said the 39-year-old man was pulled from the water but died suddenly from his injuries.
Kennedy Shoal is a shallow water area most popular for mackerel and perch fishing, according to the Fishbrain website.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
